HELPING KIDS CONNECT WITH JESUS

In Matthew 19:14 Jesus says “Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these.”   Jesus loves our kids and we do too.  We want to create spaces for our kids to connect to Jesus!

We also want kids to be full participants in the life of our church. In Matthew 18:3 Jesus said “Truly I tell you, unless you change and become like little children, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven.” So we want to teach our kids how to connect with Jesus, but we also want to empower them to teach and lead us. Some kids will choose to engage in the worship service by serving, others will leave the worship service for an age appropriate kids message. It’s your (and their) choice.

Sunday Morning Kids Programming

We also want to empower you to help your child grow in their faith. That’s why we have a variety of milestones for our kids on their journey.  We want to come alongside you as you help your child grow in faith.

SUNDAY MORNINGS

MILESTONES

We believe it is important to remember important moments in our spiritual journey. Just as Samuel laid down an Ebenezer stone in 1 Samuel 7 to help Israel remember God’s faithfulness, we take time to mark specific moments in the lives of the children at our church.

Baby Blessing (SIGN UP)

We have a class to help you decide if you want to dedicate or baptize your child. Once you take the class, you can set a date with the pastors your baby blessing.

Kindergarten Prayer Bear

To help kids learn to pray and remind them that we are praying for them, we give each kindergartener a teddy bear with the Lord’s Prayer attached to it. This is a great opportunity to teach your child the prayer that Jesus taught us.

Backpack Blessing

The start of the school is an important time in any child’s life. We want kids to know that the church is for them and that we pray for them! On one of the first Sundays in September we give each child a Crossview Kids tag to put on their backpack.

Your Own Bible (SIGN UP)

We want to help your child develop a regular Bible reading habit. That’s why we want to give your child a Bible. We do this in third grade because for many, that’s when they have developed the skills necessary to read the Bible. But the reality is, if you or your child wants a Bible, we’re happy to give them one. We invite pastors, parents, relatives and any other important adults in the child’s life to write notes in the Bible before we present it to the child at a service.

Mentor

For our 6th grade students, some are ready to sit in the service. Some want to keep going to kids church. We invite the 6th graders to become mentors for the younger kids if they choose to attend kids church.

Transition to Youth Ministry

In 6th grade, the kids also begin the transition to youth ministry.
